Zebra Apple Snail is an amazingly beautiful and petite apple snail species. Babies seem to eat also live plants, but adults will behave better. But it is a good idea to offer lots of greens for them to eat, just in case ("Oops, I missed. I was going to eat that yummy patch of algae, but I missed and ate your Downoi. Sorry, owner dear. *hihi*).
Spixis lay their eggs underwater, the same way as Giant Ramshorns (Marisa cornuarietis) do. Spixi clutches are more peach coloured than Marisa clutches. They can also reproduce together, so it's not a good idea to mix these two species.
It is really nice that Spixis don't normally climb out of the water, unlike Pomacea species. Well, I suppose they don't have anything to do out of water since they lay their eggs underwater. They breathe the same way apple snails do, their siphon is about the same size as Marisas, maybe even a bit shorter.
